President Obama’s speech from the Oval Office

There is an old saying, “May you get what you want, and want what you get.”

Based on the disappointing, hand flailing, feckless speech that President Obama made last night, one that was unfocused and listless, I continue to get the impression that he doesn’t want the job anymore.

Our president is known for giving excellent speeches. This one, however, was terrible. That’s terrible as in the delivery of the speech, and lacking original content. And that’s even with a Teleprompter under the camera and plenty of rehearsals.

I think that he can’t wait until he gets out from under being president in January 2017, when President Clinton takes over and she sees just how big a mess that our nation will be in.

What President Obama really wants to do is make high paid speeches after he abandons ship, make millions, play golf and laughs all the way to the bank while having a lifetime of very expensive Secret Service protection. What’s not to like?

To be fair, that’s what former president George W. Bush is doing. Even sadder, Mr. Bush charged about $100,000 for a speech he made to a disabled vets group who were sent into harms way in Iraq and Afghanistan. As you know, some disgusting things go on in Washington, but this has to be the most disgusting event by profiting off of our disabled soldiers. Naturally, largely unreported by the U.S. media who need access to the politicians so they can keep their jobs.

There was nothing new spoken about in the awkward speech, just a punch list of previous knee-jerk statements from the Obama administration. I laughed when he continued to try to get congress to officially back his ineffective policies in the Middle East.

He would love for the Republicans to officially back his position. Why? So they can share the blame.

In spite of his repetitive ideas to control who has legal access to which weapons, laws that criminals ignore, he hasn’t (nor anyone) made the obvious suggestion.

In the same way that the Prohibition (18th) constitutional amendment was repealed (21st), I suggest that Congress debate whether to repeal the Second Amendment. They will need a two-thirds majority in the House and Senate and then have three-quarters of the states ratify the repeal request.

I do not think that there is any chance of success, so our government continues to violate the Second Amendment by nickel and diming it until challenged.

Challenging the debasement of our Second Amendment is a very expensive process.

Many candidates also call for a Constitutional Convention to bypass Washington, but there has only been one in 1787, and very unlikely to repeat. On the other hand, it sounds good and gets votes… which is all that counts.

Congress won’t help take the blame for President Obama’s follies, as they know that it will cost them votes by backing a losing horse. Being reelected is all that matters and our president’s ideas are losers.

When I ran for congressional office in the last cycle, I wrote about how to end the Syrian war and destroy the ISIS cancer. Eventually, (I hope) the fools in Washington will follow my suggestions. I’m already hearing that our Secretary of State, John Kerry is moving in that direction. The worm turns.

We get the best politicians money can buy. That’s the one obvious fact from watching our politicians destroy our nation while pointing fingers at the other party.

Sad.
