Never let a good crisis go to waste
There has been a lot of talk about the Obamacare federal healthcare website being a disaster, developed at an astonishing cost of hundreds of millions of dollars paid by the taxpayers.
This crisis could lead to a “wonderful” opportunity for the executive branch of government, the president. It will be for the Obama administration to press for a single-payer healthcare system (socialized medicine) rather than force the public to buy insurance from the insurance company of their choice that meets required coverage standards. The president may claim that the only real resolution to the complexities of the new system is to change to single-payer.While the website debacle may have doomed phase one of Obamacare to failure, as it will take much longer to repair than claimed, you may ask why President Obama decided to work hand in hand with the insurance companies in the first place to pass the Obamacare legislation. I should mention that one of President Obama’s major donor groups was, surprise surprise, the insurance companies.
There is an old saying – one hand washes the other. After you look at the Obamacare insurance company premiums and your coverage, you’ll understand why the insurance companies have very clean hands, thanks to our president.
It appears that the federal website system is falling to pieces, and that almost all of the newly subscribed are either expanded Medicaid recipients (free coverage) or people with pre-existing conditions that will soak the system. Younger people may or may not enroll in the system so as the expected enrollee formula will be out of balance, the insurance companies will be “forced” to hike next year’s premiums. I will be shocked.
The Obama administration hopes that the young people, who don’t want to buy insurance, as they know that they are just subsidizing the older people who make most of the claims, will not notice that the “tax penalty” is tiny (and unenforceable) compared to the insurance premiums. As they will, they aren’t stupid, that will give the Obama administration the opportunity to move to be single-payer system, a.k.a. socialized medicine if the Democrats can achieve a majority in the House and the Senate in the 2014 election. Let’s hope not.
As long as the Democrats obtain the plurality, the president can easily pass phase two of Obamacare claiming that having the insurance companies quote individual premiums is not an effective way to provide healthcare for the nation and that healthcare should be a tax, and the government will pay the providers. The single-payer system will be passed and rolled out for everybody.
As I was born and raised in London, England I know all about national healthcare; I doubt that it has changed much. Simply put, the quality of healthcare in this country will fall to the lowest common denominator, as our government (that will be paying the healthcare bills for all) will decide who gets care and who doesn’t. The physicians recommendations will be secondary to the bureaucracy.
If you have lived in England, you’ll be familiar with the Harley Street region of London. It’s an enclave of private doctors and clinics who accept cash payments rather than participate in the socialized healthcare system. If you can afford it, you’ll get the best of the best and if not, you’ll get the opposite with the National Health system, what President Obama is trying to jam down our throats.
A national health, single-payer system in the United States will be grossly expensive, inefficient and will be one more step to make our country fail financially.
I want to stop a single-payer national healthcare as I know from experience it’s not a good idea. I speak from experience, something the other candidates know nothing about.
Support me financially and vote for me in the next election and I will do my best to block the Democrats idea of what’s best for America. It’s the worst.
