Children at war with themselves!

Why is it that sane men and women go to Washington to represent their constituents, and it seems that most end up squabbling like children? Even the ones who don’t, vote lockstep with their bosses. Are the mad guarding the asylum?

Why is it that some throw temper tantrums so all they can say is “No, no, no?”

Why is it that the news media has been so radicalized that you can watch the U.S. news all day long and rarely hear the whole truth, but only receive simple editorial interpretations hidden between all of those prescription drug ads.?

I think that the Republican and Democrat dogma has become so pervasive, that thoughtfulness and focusing on what’s best for the public and the country has gone out the window. So why has it come to no, no, no? I think that the biggest reason is that Washington has painted itself into a corner. No matter what they do, the scenario is still doomsday. And because they are all focused on keeping their jobs for as long as possible, they do their best to blame the other side.

If the public believes that the Republicans are blocking worthy progress, the Democrats will be more popular, and vice versa. Both sides do their best to make the other look bad and blocking any progress; so we have a stalemate.

The news media has politicized itself. They need access to the right politicians, and if they don’t play up to them they won’t get the interviews. So they dumb down the reporting to keep the public in the dark to the back room shenanigans. For example, I think that’s why Chelsea Clinton was hired by NBC, not because of any talent but because of her last name.

They must think that Hillary Clinton will run for president and win the 2016 election so they need to line up preferential access. Unfortunately for them, I think that it’s possible that Rick Santorum will. And they haven’t being sucking up to him, so they’ll be treated the same as the other networks.

Like many citizens I cannot stand the tantrums. We need to make changes to get us out of the hole that Washington has been digging us into. I hope that you’ll elect an adult to Congress, someone who will work to fix the problems, not cause them.
