Why President Obama may want to lose…

… his latest Obamacare fight in the Supreme Court. At this moment you probably think that I’m crazy, but bear with me.

The Republican Party has mounted a legal challenge to tax subsidies being used in states that don’t have “insurance exchanges” as required in the massive Obamacare legislation.

It was oversight, that a few words were misused, but the Republican Party is so determined to fight tooth and nail to get rid of Obamacare that they’ll clutch at straws.

For the record, I would like to repeal it, not because of what it doing (perhaps) but because the next step is a single payer system, the national health. I grew up under a national healthcare system, and I didn’t like it at all. It catered to the lowest common denominator.

So why would our president want a key component to fail, and cause tens of millions of lower income people who are buying heavily (taxpayer) subsidized medical insurance to lose it? It’s politics. If the president loses in the Supreme Court, it’s a tactical loss, that’s all.

Since the end game is a national health plan, where our government pays all of the bills, if millions of people lose the taste of honey, they will be very, very angry at the Republican Party.

That translates into votes for the Democratic Party’s soon-to-be nominee, Mrs. Clinton and Democratic House and Senate candidates. You may remember that she pitched a national health plan when her husband was in office. It went nowhere.

If she can win because of the angry millions of motivated voters, and with a Democratic Party majority in the House and Senate, she can follow through on President Obama’s first stage and get a national health plan enacted.

Oh what a tangled web we weave. What a mess.
