What the Fate of the Furious movie opening weekend should tell us

Some time ago I wrote an article that included an anecdotal note about just how fast China’s economy is growing. Here’s another confirmation point and that unless our country gets its act together, we’re going the same way as the United Kingdom.

Our thrashing around starting wars (and not finishing them) is a mark of distraction. Washington hopes that new wars and threats distract the public so they don’t see what Washington is doing to our nation (not for) and  we’ll all rally around the flag.

It works, but not for long.

Back to the movie. It’s a global blockbuster and made about $100 million its opening weekend here! This is the US revenue chart.

What you’ll see from the chart below is how much money it made in China during the same opening weekend!

This is a message to Washington – wake up, smell the coffee, stop squabbling and save our nation.

As of May 1, 2017, China box office receipts are $371 million; US receipts, $195 million.
