What is meant by “More of Less of More”?
Do you want more of less of more, or less of more of less?
Like me, you have to think carefully about these phrases. In English, more of less of more, means less, and less of more of less, means more.
I heard a political speech a few months ago where these phrases were used, but I cannot remember who said them. But that’s the point. Speaking out of both sides of your mouth is standard practice for a politician.
The politicians will say whatever is needed to a particular group to appease them. He’ll say the opposite to the next group.
But as the language used is frequently ambiguous, it can be interpreted two or more ways, so the politician can refine his speech after having given it.
The point is to illustrate just how little content politicians give in their speeches. They are either designed to confuse the public so, after the media has ripped the speech apart, the politicians can say that is not what he meant and was misinterpreted or have little hard content at all.
In other words, they give speeches that are sufficiently vague, so they can rewrite them afterwards.
