The upcoming Kharg Island disaster
So President Trump and the sociopath, Secretary of Defense War, Pete Hegseth are anxious to send our marines and special forces to take over Kharg Island, a very small island off the coast of Iran, used to ship most of their oil.
Why?
The stated, low IQ, reason is to damage Iran’s economy by seizing the terminal that handles almost all Iran’s oil exports. The scatterbrained idea, probably “thought of” by the idiot, but loud, Pete Hegseth, is to force the reopening the Strait of Hormuz. by starving Iran’s source of revenue.
Invading the island will put thousands of U.S. Marines and special forces in harms way and probably leave hundreds dead. Mr. Hegseth will find that exciting.
So let’s use simple logic to find the obvious flaw in this “plan.”
If the idea is to starve Iran of the oil revenue, why bother to take the oil terminals on this island. Obviously, Iran will close the oil supply pipeline valves after it’s captured, so President Trump won’t be able to steal liberate the oil.
And now, here is the method that will eliminate the need for Mr. Hegseth’s video game Kharg Island “boots on the ground” attack, which he probably thinks (or what passes for thinks) is better than playing Xbox. Perhaps he can volunteer to lead the charge on the island, like kings used to in medieval europe?
Here’s the simple method – just station ships in the open sea beyond the Straight of Hormuz and seize the tankers once they have passed through the Straight. No shooting and tankers full of oil that President Trump can steal liberate (including the tankers) after the Iranians have spent time and effort filling them. Since every ship is satellite tracked, they can be captured when they are far away from Iranian drones and missiles.
The Iranians will quickly realize that using that terminal is a waste of time and stop shipping oil and go back to war as usual.
Problem solved.
