The Asian century!

I was shocked to hear that a BBC commentator is now referring to the economic shift east in the past few decades as the beginning of the Asian Century!

I know that until the eighteenth century, the Middle Kingdom (China) was the global power under the Qing Dynasty, but I don’t think that we should be written off just yet. We are a very powerful country, and will continue to be until we lose the U.S. dollar as the reserve currency. It’s coming if our government keeps spending at its current pace, but it’s not too late to mend the fiscal mess that our congressmen and women have gotten us into.

If only we don’t resort to mindless wars in an effort to maintain our social status, a doomed to failure ploy, we have a chance.

Let’s remove the incumbents and bring in new representatives that are not bound to special interests and put our country first, not last.
