Props

You may have watched NBC Nightly News on October 29th. You can watch it below. If you jump to minute – 6:25, you’ll see President Obama greeting medical professionals who dutifully stand at his back.

Why are they there? In a word, props. They are similar to what you see in the background when you go to the theater. My wife exclaimed when we watched the show, “What! Why are the doctors wearing white coats?” Then she realized that they weren’t a bunch of chumps standing there like dummies, they were doctor dummies who were given coats and told to wear them. I wouldn’t have been surprised if these props would have been given stethoscopes to wear to complete the outfits.

It’s sad that these professional who wore white coats did so for show, and they did it voluntarily.

Presidents usually have our brave soldiers stand behind them as props, but they have no choice. They do as they are told. These doctors shouldn’t have.
