President Obama’s pledges

I used to live in Detroit in the ’80s. Well not, exactly but eight miles north in Troy, Michigan. Although Troy and other suburbs were very pleasant, except when we had blizzards, filled with amazingly nice mid-westerners I rarely ventured into Detroit proper and didn’t want to work there.

My employer, a large computer company had employees all over the country, including some based in Troy but working in the city of Detroit. I can still remember them complaining that the city imposed a stiff city income tax for people who worked there, but did little for the residents except to waste what little money they had.

As much as I liked Troy and enjoyed my job, my heart was in Atlanta where I was recruited from. Eventually, I moved back.

President Obama spoke about Detroit and the motor industry. Watch this snippet and you decide if his speeches are good, but the content lacks the truth.

Even if the federal government bails out Detroit, it will be a knee jerk reaction to this video. Our government will spend billions so that President Obama won’t be embarrassed.
