Obama’s no boots pledge
Based on recent events, I think that the lion needs to be replaced by a chicken
If you’re wondering why President Obama pledged to not send “boots on the ground” to Iraq and Syria, here’s the truth. You don’t hear much truth in Washington, so I have to write it. It’s a shame that I wasn’t elected to the House. The American public would have heard the truth, loud and clear. It would have embarrassed the other politicians. So what.
The truth is that it’s about the mid-term elections. As I’ve said in speeches, Washington’s politicians lie all of the time. They definitely lie to get elected; they lie about the economy and how well we’re doing, and President Obama is lying about “boots on the ground.”
The public buys the lies as it wants to believe. The public isn’t that interested in politics; it makes most glaze over and few people check the facts. Two and two really equals four, not five thousand, eight hundred and twelve as Washington tells them. The public believes the five thousand number as it wants to believe. That’s a big mistake, but not ever going to change. The politicians depend on it.
The big lie is that President Obama says that he will not send troops back to Iraq to fight ISIS/ISIL/IL. Why is he lying? In addition to how lying to the public is business as usual in Washington, here’s the truth. After all, we have over a thousand “boots” there already, but not called boots., The press quietly goes along with it to maintain access to the White House. If they don’t have it, they’ll lose their jobs.
President Obama will almost certainly “change his mind” after the elections early next month citing a variety of developments. He won’t mention that the billions of dollars spent on the Iraqi army has been wasted and that many of them are cowards who were just looking for a paycheck. He won’t mention that as that’s an uncomfortable fact. As Al Gore used to say, “An inconvenient truth.”
He is afraid that if he announces that the Marines are going in now, the Democrats will suffer enormous election-day losses. As he wants to go to the next step of Obamacare, the nationalization of health care, he needs every vote he can get. Another nail in our economic coffin.
The fact that is missed about elections, is that politicians can renig on every promise made the day after an election. In two years during the next election cycle, the public will have forgotten what was pledged the last time as we’ll have dozens of fresh crises to take their minds off of the last time. A few will remember, but they won’t make any difference.
ISIS/ISIL/IL knows how our system works, so they work very hard to complete their strategy before our election, ignoring our pinprick air strikes and knowing that the other Arab nations won’t use their troops since they prefer for our soldiers to die, not theirs. They are too clever to fight ISIS/ISIL/IL as they have us to do their dirty work. We will. They know that many of our politicians love wars as long as someone else’s children do the fighting, so will push the U.S. into another war that’s good for the U.S. arms manufacturers and will help increase their stock prices.
So, in a month, just after the election, President Obama will make an address on TV. He’ll say –
” …
1 For this reason, we must go back to Iraq (and Syria).
2 For this other reason, we must go back to Iraq (and Syria).
3 For this third reason, we must go back to Iraq (and Syria).
4 And for these reasons, we must go back to Iraq (and Syria).
I’m waving the flag, so please American public, let’s do this. We won’t be there for long.”
The word “long” can be defined many ways. It’s left as a vague term to get the people rallying. It implies a few months; it will be years. The public won’t rally for long if the draft is reinstated. While the public “supports the troops,” it’s a passive support. The public won’t be very happy to see their sons and daughters being killed and maimed in Iraq under the draft so they’ll be a redo of the marches on Washington.
In any instance, as Russia really likes its only Mediterranean naval base in Tartus, Syria it won’t let al-Assad fall, especially as only the Syrian army has the wherewithal to defeat ISIS/ISIL/IL Russia will defend al-Assad.
By that time, the next president will have to clean up the Bush/Obama messes plus the coming U.S. dollar failure. Obama won’t care. He’ll be rich and pampered forever.
We live in troubled times that will only get worse. Much worse.
It’s a shame as it didn’t have to be like this. This whole mess is so easy to fix.
_______
It was reported today, November 7th, that 1, 500 soldiers are being shipped to Iraq as “advisers.” It has begun.
Read about how we sent “advisers” to Vietnam in your history books. It’s a redux of that entire disaster.
On November 13th, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dempsey, said that we will need boots on the ground. Drip, drip, drip.

Editor’s note, October 27, 2015. As I wrote, the “Boots on the Ground” pledge means little to nothing.
