The Republican party is spasming as Mitt Romney lost the election by a very wide margin, and blamed “gifts from President Obama” as the cause. The GOP is gunning for Romney for failing.

I think the truth is that the former presidential candidates who have become critics needed to continue their quest for relevance, and are informally (and silently)  suggesting that they would have won if selected. They are sore losers.

Since they didn’t win the primary, they are the first to attack Romney after the fact. Anything he says is now a basis for attack. They hope to diminish him, and elevate these pretenders to the throne so they can remain relevant.

Being in the public eye means that they can also charge more for consulting jobs or speeches that they scramble for. Why? Because they are not earning receiving a big government paycheck and don’t like it.

The other Republican party critics are just blowhards, as they would have been licking Romney’s boots if he would have won. By winning he would have been praised for his marvelous campaign strategy… and please give me a nice Cabinet job. He lost so they are crucifying him, and won’t be getting the Cabinet jobs that they craved.

When I was on Morning Edition, C-Span’s call-in show about four or five months ago, I was talking about how being known in your district was the key to getting elected. Susan Swain said that both Romney and Obama were obviously well known, so that wasn’t a problem for them. I replied that as president, Mr. Obama could do things that Romney couldn’t. That proved true.

Speaking of the campaign, I also wonder how much public money President Obama spent on being reelected? Will there be an accounting of the cost for his “official duties” flying  around the country on Air Force One to give speeches? Doubtful.

Also, will anyone explain how Paul Ryan could run for both vice president and Congress in his district at the same time? If that’s okay, perhaps I should run for Congress, state rep. state senator and any other open position in Georgia I like? I didn’t think that shotgunning for election was allowed.

Maybe our government follows the Golden Rule? He who has the gold, rules.

Whether or not the gifting was the reason that Romney lost, I’m not sure but doubt. In my opinion it was his foolish choice of vice president that screwed it up. I would have picked a Latino candidate and won. He didn’t and lost.
