Ships leaving from Ukraine with grain, returning with weapons?

You may have read that Russia withdrew from the deal allowing Ukraine to export grain, after its Black Sea fleet was attacked, changed it’s mind and now the deal is on again.

So why?

I suspect that Russia, after having mapped the minefields that Ukrainian boats helped navigate the grain ships away from it ports, it is finally planning on stopping returning ships for inspection, and seizure.

In the past, for some reason, it only inspected ships leaving. Why? I don’t know, but they got it backwards!

So when, and if, they find pallets of heavy western bloc weapons in the cargo holds, they will use them against the Ukrainians, and seize the ships. You can’t ship huge quantities of heavy weapons using Uber, so ships are the best solution.

Why the Russians haven’t destroyed the different supply routes, rail, roads and seized ships in the past, I do not know. Perhaps too much vodka for breakfast?

There are a lot of ships at any one time, so they will trade them for the sanctioned Russian private yachts that were seized. Why were private yachts seized? Other than intimidation by my government, I don’t know. The owners did not work for the Russian government, so it was just venal.
