Anthony Weiner and others
It’s goes without saying that the public is being entertained, and disgusted with Anthony Weiner’s stupidity and antics while running for mayor of NYC. What’s really scary is that he may win! The public makes some strange choices and he has nothing to lose. After being pressured to resign from Congress, I doubt that he’ll drop out of this race.
What is very sad about this theater is that Weiner should have learned his lesson, and stopped his bizarre behavior. He didn’t, but apparently has a compulsion to sex-text with strangers. One of them is about to capitalize on her fifteen minutes of fame, by making a movie about her sex-texting with an (ex)congressman. No, I won’t be watching it.
Even sadder, it’s reported that the bad, for Democrats, press is rubbing off on Hillary Clinton, who did an absolutely lousy job as Secretary of State. You may recall that she is responsible for starting and fueling the murderous uproar in the Arab world with her Arab Spring fiasco.
The Clintons’, meaning both her and Bill, have strongly suggested that Mr. Weiner withdraws from the mayoral race because he mixed sex with politics. Is this calling the kettle black? Does anyone remember Monica Lewinsky? I don’t remember President Clinton resigning after lying about having sex with her in the Oval Office. Do you?
Why is it that we seem to have an elite ruling class, families that receive serial nominations and are elected to high office? With over 210 million adults in this country, why is it that we have lots of Kennedy’s, lot’s of Bush’s and soon to be lot’s of Clinton’s in and around the White House and few other people?
What’s wrong with us to insist that when we’re given Hobson’s Choice, we cannot just refuse to choose anyone. The answer… a rigged system. There are no choices. I can fix that if elected.
It comes to mind that some congresspeople say stupid things. In 2010 one said he was worried about our military expansion in Guam, “My fear is that the whole island will become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize.” Afterwards, he got voted back in with 75% of the votes cast! In 2012, he won again with 74%. If you don’t believe he said that, watch this –
We need to remove these serial politicians from office. Eight years is plenty. I know how to get them out, so new people with new ideas and without rigid dogma can move the nation forward.
