The real reason why Donald Trump is running for president
The media is full of stories about Donald Trump (Teflon Don II) running for president as a Republican.
But none of them have actually given the real reason why. As he is rich, very rich, he doesn’t have to pander to special interests either ahead, or after the race so he does and says what he wants. I think that is obvious.
Keep reading. I’ll get to the real reason soon.
As you may realize, many of our politicians are bought (rented) and paid for after being elected. Just check the donation filings with the FEC after elections, not before. Once elected they receive huge donations, but relatively few before. That’s because donors don’t have to hedge their bets by donating to all of the campaigns, just the winner. You may have heard Mr. Trump saying that he did this as well.
That’s why incumbents leverage being in office for high paid jobs after they leave, or magically become very high paid “consultants” working for companies that they did favors for.
The “system” elects them under the pretense that the voters believe that the elections are fair. How?
Have you noticed that there aren’t any “none of the above” check boxes on ballots, so you are forced to support one of the listed candidates?
Have you noticed that many of the positions have a single candidate on the ballot? Why? That means that even a single vote (by the candidate) will ensure election.
Have you wondered why presidential primaries are not on the same day? It allows a bias for the “chosen” candidates in subsequent elections?
Have you looked closely at your ballots? Do you notice that the party affiliation is listed and if the candidate is an incumbent?
It’s done this way so that you will have to vote for the chosen candidate or candidates and be nudged in a certain direction. Elections must appear to be legitimate and have plurality (51% who bother to vote) for each elected position. That’s the way the system works.
The system doesn’t like Trump. He can’t be bought and paid for but he has the money to be a steamroller. If Mr. Trump elected he will say and do almost anything he wants.
But the real reason that Donald Trump is running for president and possibly as an Independent, if the suits get rid of him, is that he is almost seventy years old. He is turning the system back on itself, and the system doesn’t like it.
It wants to get rid of him.
When you reach nearly seventy years old you’ll have long realized that the next day may be your last. You become focused on what you want and need to do. Now.
All the money in the world doesn’t make any real difference as to your final day. In your twenties, thirties and forties you never think that you may be dead tomorrow from natural causes. Eventually you start to think about it.
That thought process is awaiting you, probably in your late fifties. You’ll start noticing that your friends and acquaintances are starting to die and that will trigger you to think about how long you have left. That thought process will create action.
Mr. Trump must have had plenty of these experiences; it has colored his thoughts and developed an urgency.
Donald Trump knows how to get attention and he does. As he is very rich he has chosen to become globally famous by playing with our corrupt primary system. He thinks that he may possibly be elected president. He knows that it’s a long shot, but he has nothing to lose… except some money. Why should he care?
Even if he loses, as he will have billions of dollars left, it won’t make a hill of beans difference to his lifestyle.
So I have no doubt that if he does not win the Republican nomination, as they are doing their best to discredit him, he will become an Independent candidate. The Republican dominated states will try to block his candidate registrations, but if he succeeds he will severely damage the Republican Party’s preferred generic candidate’s chances as payback.
He doesn’t care. He can afford to tell the truth as he sees it. He doesn’t have to beg for money like the other candidates.
For mere mortals this behavior is unaffordable. Candidates have to grovel for money. For Donald Trump it is both affordable and within his purview as a one-man army.
At the very least, we’ll all be entertained. As I’ve written before a number of times, I have no doubt that Mrs. Clinton will be elected president next year, and due to our economic collapse coming in a few years she will regret it.
Mr. Trump’s billions will insulate him against almost everything. Except for death. No one escapes this earth alive; not you and not me and not Trump. When you enter your fifties and sixties you become acutely aware that today may be your last. Mr. Trump will soon be in his seventies.
And that’s why Mr. Trump is running.

Editor’s note: March 1st, 2016
As you may know, former presidential candidate, Chris Christie, (age 53), governor of New Jersey, has decided to support and endorse Mr. Trump for president after dropping out of the race.
He now appears slightly behind, but side by side, during Mr. Trump’s tirades speeches.
So the question is why?
I think that (absent from New Jersey, but still being paid) Governor Christie is an example of a ruthless politician.
My belief is that he hopes by “brown-nosing” he’ll be made vice president. He clearly knows that Mr. Trump is 69, so I have no doubt that he will spend every night praying that then President Trump will die from a heart attack so Christie can become president.
Sad, but I believe true. Nobody dares say it. I do, because I think that it’s true.

August 24, 2015. Mr. Trump was on CBS Face the Nation yesterday. He said this –
A woman sends in $7.23 the other day. It was cute. She writes this beautiful little letter. That’s what she had. But we have lot of small contributors. I would even take big contributors, as long as they don’t expect anything, because the only people that can expect something from me is going to be the people that want to see our country be great again.
Those are the only people. So, certainly, I would take — I actually like the idea of investing in a campaign, but it has to be no strings attached. I don’t want any strings attached. You know, these lobbyists come in. I turned down $5 million last week from a very important lobbyist, because there are total strings attached to a thing like that.
He has dug a hole with that comment. First of all a candidate can only take $2,700 per contributor (FEC), so throwing around a $5 million number is foolish. That $5 million was probably offered to an independent (by law) super PAC and super PACs has limits.
Sadly, although I hoped that he’d refuse any donation, he has gained notoriety press by bragging about how rich he is and how much money he can spend on becoming president. He revealed that he is quietly taking money from the public that will probably be used to repay what is almost certainly an unrestricted personal loan to his campaign. I wrote about that technique here, and how I would block it if elected. I wasn’t and will have to wait until the FEC campaign contribution lists are published to see exactly what is going on. A part of that message is below –
- I will also propose blocking refundable candidate loans to his or her campaign. Why? Because a wealthy candidate can buy an election by just loaning himself $5 million and deposit it into his campaign account, scaring off other challengers who can’t possibly match these funds. The wealthy candidate then takes the money back in full after being elected.
- I will propose that once money is deposited or donated into a campaign account, after each election, all of those monies must be transferred to the FEC and donated to the top 50 charities so that each candidate or electee has zero funds in his or her committee account. That will level the playing field, and stop the massive accumulations between elections.
The only thing that matters is the vote. If you don’t have that you are just noise.
