What the Egyptian army learned from our government
If you follow the Middle-East news you’ll be closely watching the unfolding events in Egypt. You cannot depend on our network TV news as they filter the news before each show. They editorially avoid anything they don’t care for, and to save time for the “prescription drugs are good” and “fluffy” segments. It’s called news-entertainment.
You may have noticed that the Syrian civil war is being ignored as its government is winning. They will only show negative news about its government, or no news. The same goes for news from Iraq, another failed state that our foreign policy created. On Sunday, al-Qaeda attacked Abu Ghraib prison and freed up to 500 militant prisoners. The simmering Iraq civil war may now boil over. It will be barely reported on by our network news channels. They call it the “burying your head in the sand” approach to news.
As you know Mr. Morsi, the democratically elected president was removed from power in a military coup on July 3rd and imprisoned.
General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, the general in charge has asked the public to demonstrate this Friday to give him a mandate to “… confront possible violence and terrorism.” The general has discovered that if you overthrow a legitimate government, you can deflect the public’s anger by playing the “terrorism” card. It’s an effective way to keep the public docile. It works here too.
I think his rationale is that as the terrorism card is working in the United States, so why not try it in Egypt?
Our government plays this terrorism card frequently as a justification to destroy the Fourth Amendment and install perpetual fear into the public “…to keep us safe.” In that way they can control us as the virtual ring fences are being built, to a point that our liberties and freedoms will be permanently diminished to the point of no return.
Shame on us.

In spite of efforts by Senators McCain and Graham, they failed to persuade General al-Sisi to not kill Egyptian citizens who are objecting to the military coup. Over five hundred Egyptians died yesterday in the aftermath of the coup.
President Obama still will not use the “coup” word, as it will legally block bribes financial aid flowing to Egypt. As I wrote above, they know how to play us, and they are. Our president lacks a backbone.

Saudi Arabia (our best friend?) has promised to offset dollar for dollar any reduction in U.S. “aid” to Egypt. They have just made us impotent. With friends like the Saudi’s who needs enemies?
