HIMARS and other pretend methods to help Ukraine

HIMARS are ridiculously expensive, Lockheed Martin, High Mobility Artillery Rocket System weapons. The are DEFENSIVE in nature, designed to intercept, in this instance, Russian rockets but also can be used in an offensive manner. They are easily defeated, since they cost $1 billion each and each rocket, about $3 million and it’s not easy to fire lots of these rockets without an expensive resupply infrastructure. Not chump change, but good for Lockheed Martin who makes them.

On the positive side, President Trump has persuaded the the dumb “alleged” leaders of the NATO countries to actually buy them (at a good profit for Lockheed Martin) and deliver them to Ukraine at their expense and effort, although probably using unmarked U.S. transport airplanes thus involving us directly in the war!

I’m sure that the U.S. government is (quietly) financing the deal so NATO can pretend to spend money on them, although officially buying them and decide not to pay on the due date, the week after President Trump leaves office. It’s just smoke and mirrors, politics as usual.

And that’s assuming that President Trump doesn’t do a Zelenskyy by declaring marital law and staying in office beyond his second four year term. It’s a good technique.

I’m sure that the Russians can identify the HIMARS when they are used via satellite imagery, drone surveillance plus other methods and send in drone swarms to destroy them. Not a big problem as Ukraine had as many as forty, now thought to be six. Not easily reported in the west, as only bad news for Russia gets the headlines.

HIMARS have nothing to do with Russia and Ukraine negotiating a cease fire but good PR, while President Trump keeps making noise about how he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize (among other jokes)!!!

The real, fast solution is for Ukraine to surrender and Zelenskyy quickly moves to California and gets on the talk show circuit while living in a mansion paid for using his tiny Ukrainian salary savings… plus I suspect lots of Bitcoin.

Then people will live and not die for no reason.
